On Sunday, a prankster poured soap into the Exchange Square fountain, leaving a mound of overflowing bubbles all over the pavement.

Councillor Pat Karney vowed to watch back the CCTV footage in the area in a bid to pin down the jokers and shame them in court.

But in an update this afternoon, he said that "unfortunately" the cameras were actually zoomed in on another part of the square, meaning there is no evidence of what actually happened.
