If there's a stand-out star from series two of The Traitors, it's Diane Carson - the 63-year-old retired teacher who's charmed fans with her no-nonsense attitude on the show, her secret family relation to fellow contestant Ross and her abrupt copper bob.
Viewers of the BBC One show watched last night as Diane became the latest of the Faithful contestants to be 'killed' by the Traitors in the game, being 'murdered' in plain sight by Miles in a fittingly camp fashion - with a glass of fizzy rosé.
While the fan-favourite loved filming the show over several weeks, she revealed in an exclusive chat with OK! that her friends grew concerned during her time away - as she'd left her husband to respond to her texts. "I gave my phone to my husband when I was on the show, so he had to pretend to be me and send texts to people," she explained. "But he's like a one word man." Diane added that her friends began to worry about her mental health after receiving uncharacteristic messages that were supposedly from her. "So I had to go for chats with them afterwards and say, 'No, I'm fine!'" she laughed.
Although the retired teacher tried to keep her taking part in the show a secret from her family, she told her husband - and eventually let her daughter know after disappearing to film. "I said to my husband, 'You will need to make a judgement call if my daughter can't speak to me because she might worry.' She's like a wee mummy hen for all of us And that's exactly what happened.
