EXCLUSIVE: The Talk may be wrapping up after 15 seasons in December, but Executive Producer Rob Crabbe and his team are not going down without a fight.
For the first time in its history, The Talk will invite guest comedians on the show to yuk it up for the crowd and cameras. “Stand Up At The Talk” will launch April 26 and return each Friday.
Hosts Sheryl Underwood, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Amanda Kloots will move off stage so the set can be transformed into a comedy club.
The featured standup will then perform a 5-minute set for the audience. “I am excited to bring two things I love together — standup comedy and The Talk,” Underwood, who’s a comedian herself, tells Deadline. “This is the first time The Talk has done a standup series, but it won’t be the last.
