The Statler Brothers star Harold Reid has sadly died at age 80, with his fellow band members announcing the news. Harold was a founding member and bass singer for the country band, with the musician passing away in his hometown, Staunton, Virginia, on Friday.

The band announced the sad news on their website, writing in a statement: ‘HAROLD REID of The Statler Brothers passed away April 24, 2020.’ They added: ‘He had bravely endured a long battle with kidney failure.

He is and will always be loved by his family, friends and millions of fans. ‘His singing, his songwriting and his comedy made generations happy.
