The trailer for the new Smurfs movie just dropped – and it is filled with a star-studded cast! Rihanna plays Smurfette, who goes on an adventure to save Papa Smurf (John Goodman) after he is mysteriously taken from Smurf Village by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel.
With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. Keep reading to find out more… James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña, and Kurt Russell will also have roles.
Written by Pam Brady and directed by Chris Miller, Rihanna also has a producer credit. Rihanna also wrote new, original songs for the movie, per Variety.
The trailer also features her singing a cover of “Heaven is a Place on Earth” by Belinda Carlisle. Smurfs will be released in theaters July 18, 2025.
