The Simpsons writers have been at it again, claim fans of the show, who have pointed to an episode in which Tom Hanks hosts a special show on Inauguration Day.

Not only is the 64-year-old Hollywood legend presenting the event, he is doing so in the cartoon after unrest had descended upon the United States.

In real life, Tom was hosting Celebrating America on primetime, as Joe Biden's Inauguration Day was brought to a close by a number of musical heroes, who sang songs of renewed hope in the United States after the tumultuous Trump years.
