Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh saw The Repair Shop's star Jay Blades take to the sofa today, as he offered a rare insight into his chosen family and past mental health struggles.

Beloved BBC furniture restorer Jay shared heartfelt revelations with host Alan Titchmarsh in an emotional new interview. Jay recalled the difficult time in 2015 when he seemingly disappeared from the public eye, detailing how the "love he received" played a significant part in his revival.

Reflecting on a Wolverhampton family that looked after him during his darkest times, Jay expressed gratitude, revealing: "They are still supporting me to this day." At one point, becoming choked up, Jay discussed Gerald Bailey, who he regards as a brother.

He said: "Gerald Bailey is classified as my brother. He said to me..." his voice faltered as he struggled with his emotions, reports the Express.
