Bongani Zungu can strengthen his Rangers starting line-up after landing the South African international on a season-long loan deal.
The Light Blues boss finally ended his lengthy search for a midfielder after completing a move late with an option to buy the 27-year-old from parent club Amiens at the end of the season.Zungu, valued at £3.5 million by the French Ligue 2 side earlier in the transfer window, had just seven months left of his deal but according to sources in France they extended his contract to ensure they receive a transfer fee for their star turn.Gerrard made no secret of his desire to bolster his engine room throughout the transfer window but left it late with Zungu’s deadline day made official just a couple of hours before.
