Viewers all settled in on Sunday night to get into The Pursuit of Love which had been hyped up to fill the Downton Abbey and Bridgerton void in our lives.
However, if social media is to believed then the show was not doing it for people. The three-part drama adaptation of the novel follows two cousins living in 1920s Oxfordshire, with Linda Radlett, played by Lily James, dreaming of adventure meanwhile Fanny Logan, played by Emily Beecham, hopes for stability after she was abandoned by her mother.
Dominic West and Andrew Scott also star in the series, which gave viewers hope that it would be everything they could want from a period drama.
