A prolific burglar caught rummaging through a man's drawers as he slept will now spend the next eight Christmases behind bars.
Career criminal Darren Farrelly, 52, was finally caught by police as part of an investigation into robberies and burglaries that had been reported across north Manchester.
In August of this year, residents on Bury Old Road in Cheetham Hill witnessed a burglary taking place at around 4am. It involved two men who had stolen a TV from a communal room alongside forcing entry into a flat and stealing handbags and purses whilst they slept.
The incident was caught on doorbell footage. Officers were called to the scene and found the TV in a nearby car park and a handbag in the corridor.
