The murder-mystery series, starring Nicole Kidman and now streaming on Netflix, is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s 2018 novel of the same name.
Developed for the screen by showrunner Jenna Lamia (“Good Girls”), the show follows Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), whose upcoming marriage to Benji Winbury (Billy Howle) is derailed after the death, and supposed murder, of her maid of honor Merritt Monaco (Meghann Fahy).
As the police investigate the family, they discover that each person in the wedding party are harboring their own secrets. Despite the similarities, those that have read the book will immediately notice differences in the adaptation.
