The One Show host Alex Jones struggled to contain her emotions as singer Sir Tom Jones said that his beloved wife Melinda Trenchard, who died in 2016, made one final plea for him to carry out her dreams after her death.

The heartbreaking conversation was too much for Alex, who is currently pregnant with her second child, and she cried listening to The Voice coach share his personal memories.

Sir Tom, 80, was married to Melinda for an impressive 59 years before she sadly died of cancer. Following a heroic battle with the disease, Melinda died five years ago this April with her husband by her side.
