The Office is getting a VR game, The Office World, and will contain plenty of references for fans of the show to spot.The Office aired from 2005 to 2013, and now you’ll be able to step into the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin.
Players will choose a seat at one of the desks and play mini-games inspired by the show, reports GameRant.These mini-games will allow you to earn Schrute Bucks which you can spend in-game to customise your desk and buy trinkets from the vending machines. “The Office World gives fans a completely new way to experience the series through the interactive possibilities of virtual reality,” said Sarah Malkin, director of metaverse entertainment at Meta. “Our partnership with NBCUniversal allows us to expand the show’s universe beyond the screen, letting fans dive into The Office’s world in immersive, social experiences and games.
It’s not just about watching anymore—it’s about stepping inside and being part of the action in a way that only VR can deliver.”The Office World is a collaboration between Meta and NBCUniversal.
The game is coming to the Meta Horizon platform, a social hub with various experiences, like Roblox or PlayStation Home. The Office World is due to come to the platform October 10.The game should include plenty of references for fans of the series to spot.
