Spring is a time to rediscover the incredible countryside we have right on our doorstep. Among nature’s delights at this time of year are the gorgeous displays of spring flowers which pop up everywhere, with bluebells being one of the most popular.
There are lots of places nearby where you can see these beautiful purple flowers, but ‘one of the best’ places in the UK to see them is over in North Wales, just a short drive away from Greater Manchester.
Snowdonia has been named a ‘flora hotspot’ in a list of 20 rural wonders in the UK. Each location on the list, compiled by Humes Outfitters, was selected according to various criteria, from flora and fauna hotspots to stargazing destinations.
Snowdonia was listed among the four flora destinations, alongside Simonside Hills in Northumberland, Mayfield Lavender Farm on the outskirts of London and the Peak District.
