Newcastle’s new owners will prioritise out-of-work bosses as they seek a replacement for Steve Bruce. That would rule out Rangers boss Steven Gerrard for the job.
The Saudi-led consortium is turning first to those without a job as they hunt for the man to fulfil their long-term vision.Bruce could be kept on while they consider their options but they do not want to have to pay compensation for a boss currently in a role.
