The new and improved AO Arena is fit for a city with 'music at its heart'

The AO Arena has been the beating heart of Manchester since it first opened way back in 1995, when none other than Oasis were one of the very first bands to play there, just after going (champagne) supernova with their second album.

Since then, the much-loved venue has hosted just about every big act you can think of in music and comedy, as well as sporting events, theatre shows and much, much more.

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone in the North West, never mind Manchester, who hasn’t had some of the best times of their life inside the near 30-year-old arena.

Time doesn’t stand still, however, and neither does the AO Arena, and over the last 18 months the famous venue has had a spectacular rebirth following £50m of renovations, upgrades and improvements.
