Having played 583 games in claret and amber, Hammell is Motherwell’s post-war record appearance holder.He's as modest as they come, despite the former left-back's achievements in ML1.Hammell has risen from the academy product cleaning cars to Mr Reliable, only once departing the club for a short spell at Southend United.A testimonial beckoned during his playing career and he would go on to make 23 appearances in European football, a feat that no other player has matched at Fir Park.
