A 'despicable' rapist who drugged his victims will spend six more years behind bars after top judges ruled his prison sentence of 24 years 'was simply too low'.

Steven Evans, 33, was locked up in November last year after a jury found him guilty of 37 offences, the majority of them horrific rapes and sex assaults.

Evans - who used a substance he called 'magic' on his victims - was convicted of 10 counts of rape, six counts of assault by penetration and one sexual assault against one woman, committed in 2015-2016, and five counts of rape, three of assault by penetration, seven sexual assaults and two charges of administering a stupefying substance with intent against a second woman.
