A total of 2,680 people tested positive for the virus across the region in the week ending March 21. The total decreased by 129 cases compared to the previous week - which means the infection rate was down 5 per cent in the last week.
There were 34 Covid-19 deaths recorded in the region during this time - 19 fewer than in the previous seven days. The region’s infection rate is now 94.5 cases per 100,000 population in the week up to March 21, according to the latest data from Public Health England.
