The weekly rates have fallen in six areas and remained level in one area. Bolton continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in the region at 73.4 cases per 100,000 people, in the week ending April 30.
That’s according to the latest data from Public Health England. The lowest infection rate is in Wigan, where the rate is 21.3 cases per 100,000 people for the same period.
In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 34.8 cases per 100,000 population - compared to the national average of 22.5.
