If there is one thing that Wigan Warriors have lacked this season, it is size in the pack. Adrian Lam’s squad contains a number of tough forwards, including several homegrown stars, who lack nothing in desire and aggression.
But not too many are physically imposing as they tend to be smaller in stature, and more compact, than those at other clubs.
Former England star George Burgess left the club at the start of the year and was not replaced. Thus the arrival of South Sydney Rabbitohs prop Patrick Mago could be a very useful addition to Wigan next season.
Mago, a “big mobile athlete” in the world of executive director Kris Radlinski, has signed for the Warriors on a two-year contract, with the option of a third year.
