‘The Inbetweeners’ stars to play Oasis’ Liam and Noel Gallagher in Comic Relief “reunion” sketch

The Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas are set to play Oasis‘ Liam and Noel Gallagher in a mock reunion for Comic Relief.As fans on social media predicted after heavy hints pointed to Comic Relief planning something Oasis-related, it’s been revealed that Buckley and Thomas will reunite on-screen for an Oasis parody.Best known for their roles as Jay and Simon in The Inbetweeners, they kept fans guessing before the news was announced, having shared a picture of themselves together – presumably on set – which Buckley captioned: “Don’t call it a comeback.”In a statement (via Radio Times), Buckley said he was “honoured to be asked” to be a part of the sketch, adding: “Of course, being a huge Oasis fan, getting to be Liam for the day was a dream come true.”A post shared by James Buckley (@buxtagram)Thomas added that he grew up watching Comic Relief, with the “big sketch” always being a highlight of the night,” so it’s both thrilling and nerve-wracking to be a part of it”.The sketch will air as part of the Red Nose Day broadcast on Friday (March 21), starting at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.Comic Relief has also revealed it will be giving away two VIP tickets in the Royal Box at Wembley Stadium for the reunion tour on Saturday August 2, with winners also taking home a guitar signed by both Liam and Noel as well as official tour merchandise.
