‘The Greatest’: Amin Joseph To Play Boxer Sonny Liston In Amazon’s Muhammad Ali Series
deadline.comAmin Joseph (Snowfall) has been cast as a lead opposite Jaalen Best in The Greatest, Prime Video’s limited series about the life of Muhammad Ali, from executive producer Michael B.
Jordan and executive producer/showrunner Ben Watkins. The series will feature the defining moments in Ali’s life and career — both in and out of the ring — that have been well documented as well as moments that took place outside the spotlight.
The world remembers an icon, but The Greatest is about a man, a husband, a father, a brother, and a son. Best will play the boxing legend.
Joseph will play his rival, heavyweight champion Sonny Liston. Nicknamed “The Bear,” Liston had been considered unbeatable until he lost the title in 1964 to loud-mouthed underdog Muhammad Ali (then known as Cassius Clay).
