The city saw a staggering 68.5 per cent decline last year, the largest year-on-year drop across the rest of the nation. Sales fell in the area from 3,325 in 2019 to only 1,049 in 2020 – a loss of two thirds – according to mortgage platform Haysto.
The company has analysed the latest government data to see which towns saw the highest and lowest rate of property purchases in 2020.
