He is a rapper and music producer whose stage name comes from his initials E. G which is an abbreviation of Example. He first began rapping to fit in with his peers at school as he wasn't good at sports.

He won his first rap battle at 12-years-old and later went on to study at Royal Holloway University in London. Example graduated in 2003 and began releasing tracks independently.

He signed a record deal in 2006 and his career then went from strength-to-strength. He has since gone on to release seven studio albums and his eighth is set to be released in June 2022.
