A drug gang responsible for smuggling over a billion pounds worth of narcotics into the UK has been sentenced to a collective 195 years in prison.
The Metropolitan Police, in collaboration with the National Crime Agency (NCA), concluded a four-year probe that saw 12 dangerous individuals convicted for drug-related crimes.
Among those convicted included several gang members from Greater Manchester. The extensive operation thwarted efforts to flood London and other regions across the UK with drugs valued at more than a billion pounds.
