As the cost of living rises, many people are scaling back on their baking habits due to the high price of ingredients. Instagram personality and mum-of-one Aleena, from Manchester, has shared an affordable, simple recipe that shows you don't need to spend a fortune to bake delicious treats.
Her recipe, which can be whipped up in just four steps, only requires 30 minutes to bake in an air fryer – an appliance that has soared in popularity in the UK due to its energy efficiency.Aleena, who has over 30,000 followers on Instagram at @aleena_rzq, recently collaborated with AO.com’s Great British Kitchen Index Campaign, which found that the popularity of home baking has been waning.
Making cakes and other bakes in the air fryer is not only easy, it can also be more energy efficient than using a traditional oven."Baking was something me and my mum did together all the time,” Aleena said, reflecting on how her baking habits have evolved since becoming a mother herself. “Now that I'm a mum, I've had to adapt my ways and make it a quicker and easier process so I can do it all in my air fryer."In the video, Aleena said: “I decided to try a quick cake while my son took his one-hour nap.
I used to bake all the time and it's only when I actually bake again, that I realise it's so quick and easy.“I made this delicious Raspberry and white chocolate loaf cake in my ninja air fryer as I don't need to preheat the oven, and it also bakes the loaf in just 30 minutes as opposed to the one-hour oven time."Ready to be enjoyed when cooled, Aleena added: “When Ari woke up we all enjoyed this loaf together.
