The Crown issue casting call to find a Prince Harry for season six of Netflix show

Netflix has put out a last-minute call for an actor to play Prince Harry in season six of The Crown, with filming scheduled to start in November.

Anyone who looks like Prince Harry (or knows someone who does) is being urged to come forward – and no acting experience is necessary.There is a two-week deadline and entrants need to send a short video of themselves doing “something they love” by email and whoever the future star will be has been promised “a great deal of support”.The call-out sheet reads: “Robert Sterne, Casting Director of the Netflix series THE CROWN, is searching for an exceptional young actor to play Prince Harry in the next series." It continues: “It is a significant role in this award winning drama and we are looking for a strong physical resemblance.

Shooting will commence November 2022 in the UK. “No previous professional acting expertise is required. We are very experienced in providing a great deal of support for the young actors and their families through what they find is a uniquely rewarding creating process.” Season five, with Imelda Staunton as the Queen and Dominic West as Prince Charles, is just weeks away from release, and set to arrive on screens on 9 November.

The series will explore the breakdown of the marriage between the now-King Charles and the late Princess Diana before their divorce in 1996.
