Sony's trailer for The Craft: Legacymakes the film look less like a sequel than an updated remake of the teen fantasy that drove legions of us to worship at the dark altar of demonic sorceress Fairuza Balk.
It adheres quite closely to the story beats and even some of the dialogue of the 1996 cult horror hit, right down to the new arrival in town who completes the circle of aspiring witches, bringing magic she has only just begun to command as they use their collective powers to cut school bullies down to size.
But all that is pretty much over and done with in the early scenes of the new installment, before it goes off on a different, and far less satisfying, tangent.
