A Scot has shared a photo of a Christmas tree "in the middle of nowhere" that is said to be decorated each year by a local person.

The tree, which has been covered in baubles and tinsel, is located near to Penninghame in Dumfries and Galloway. According to photographer Jackie Wallace-Riddle, it is "decorated by an unknown local each year".

Wallace-Riddle stated that the tree was a "lovely surprise to find that needed to be photographed". She later shared the festive find in the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook group.

She wrote: "Seen near Challoch. I was told by a local that the tree is decorated each year by a mystery person." Before long, the post had received hundreds of likes from fellow Facebook users.
