Fuel prices remain high in the UK, despite the average price of petrol falling in July by nearly 9p (8.74p). The average price dropped to 182.69p a litre last month, with the actions of independent retailers prompting the biggest companies to finally lower their prices, analysis of RAC Fuel Watch data shows.
Now August has rolled around, the average price for unleaded petrol has dropped further. The latest RAC figures show that the average cost for a litre of unleaded petrol is 175.24p, which is a 7.45p decrease from July's average prices, while super unleaded is at 188.42p.
