‘The Brutalist’ director Brady Corbet used his moment accepting for Best Director – Motion Picture Golden Globe to send his condolences to Aubrey Plaza, following the death of her husband Jeff Baena, who died January 3 at the age of 47.READ MORE: 20 absolutely unmissable films coming out in 2025Corbet, reading from a speech he had prepared on his phone, thanked the cast and crew members of The Brutalist, as well as his loved ones, before ending his speech with “Tonight, my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family”.

Plaza was not in attendance but the dedication sparked a round of applause from the ceremony’s audience.Baena’s body was reported to have been discovered at his home in Los Angeles by an assistant, where he was later pronounced dead.

The director was known for his 2014 horror-comedy Life After Beth, which also starred Plaza, as well as writing the indie drama I Heart Huckabees.
