Cidsin Indian Bistro in Pitlochry is building on its storming success at the Scottish Asian Food Awards and offering an extended menu.The refined Indian restaurant and gin bar at the Craigvrack Hotel has continued to be ranked Pitlochry’s top restaurant on Tripadvisor with 537 five star reviews, voted best of the town's 33 restaurants.And that’s against the background of being named overall winner for the whole country in the Scotland’s Best Curry Restaurant category at the end of last year.To come top at the black-tie awards ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel in November was a major accolade for the Perthshire enterprise which only opened in 2021.Usually Glasgow or Edinburgh with their scores of competitive curry houses could expect to take the title, but Pitlochry triumphed having already won in the central sub-region.The Scottish Asian Food Awards (SAFA) celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals “who connect communities through food and culture.”Cidsin’s co-owner Chetan Sharma took the thumbs up from SAFA judges to heart and added to what was already a classic menu by adding several extra curry choices.This summer customers who frequent the bistro on West Moulin Road have enjoyed several new dishes to augment Cidsin Urban Indian’s indulgent Tiffin menu which presents a complete meal served in traditional metal food containers.The use of authentic Tiffin sets -common in India as a way to deliver food to Mumbai city workers - by Cidsin was an innovation in the way Indian food is served in Scotland.Most of the small dishes in the ‘experience’ are prepared using an elaborate charcoal-based cooking procedure.“And, if the number of orders per day is any criterion to measure, Tiffin is undoubtedly our show
