Peak District hikers are being warned to watch out for a 'big bog monster' that's already 'caught a few people out'. Glossop Mountain Rescue Team urged walkers to take care along a treacherous stretch of path on Bleaklow moor surrounded by a deep puddle that people keep falling into.
One hiker told of witnessing a fell runner plunge into the bog before sinking up to his chest. Another said: "Been there. I had to be dragged out by a mate.

And following the reopening of Snake Pass, Glossop Mountain Rescue Team issued a warning to anyone thinking about making the trek up there.
