EXCLUSIVE: The Asian American Foundation and the Sundance Institute on Thursday unveiled the AAPI filmmakers set for the second edition of their program, the “Sundance Institute | The Asian American Foundation Fellowship and Collab Scholarship.” Participants and projects set for the Fellowship include Daniel Chein (Time Hunter), Justin Kim (Dancing with Cranes), Naomi Ko (The 20-Year Curse), Tee Jaehyung Park (Cece’s Interlude), Urvashi Pathania (Skin), and Jiayan “Jenny” Shi (Untitled Scientist Project).

This year’s Collab Scholarship recipients, meanwhile, are Kristine Gerolaga (Lamok), Rahi Hasan (Dhupshikha), Quang Nong (Baby Jackfruit Baby Guava), Miles Orduña (Death of the Great American Mall), Betsy Tsai (A Land of Long Shadows), and Jackie!

Zhou (Rumspringa). Launched last year, the program from TAAF and the Sundance Institute looks to provide AAPI artists working in film and television with opportunities for professional development and community building, whether they’re just launching their careers or are more established, the goal being to meaningfully increase AAPI representation in independent media.

Annually, six fellows are provided with a year-round educational opportunity to enhance their professional growth in the arts.
