The Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur has opened up about being kept in the dark about who had won the BBC series, revealing the show actually films two alternate endings and later tells the candidates who has been hired.

In an interview with OK! and other press outlets, Harpreet, 30, explained that it felt “surreal” after the cameras stopped rolling in the boardroom as she and finalist Kathryn Burn didn’t know which of them had been victorious.

Harpreet explained: “At that point we didn’t know who had won, as you film two endings, so it was a bit of a surreal moment as you film it, and then don’t know what’s happening.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter The dessert parlour owner, who was crowned the champion and received Lord Alan Sugar’s £250,000 investment, continued: “Everything on The Apprentice is filmed as you see it, there’s no acting, there’s nothing. “But at the end you do have to film two alternates where I’m hired, or Kathryn’s hired and then we’ve just recently found out who was the real winner.” Harpreet added: “It’s been a long wait since and we’ve both just been working really hard on the business’ since then. “You’re almost in limbo for a while until you find out what’s going on, but because we’re so work focused, we’re not going to let anything get in the way of our goals regardless. “But it’s been amazing to have that closure and think, ‘Ok, so I did win!’” Meanwhile, the show’s runner-up online pyjama store owner Kathryn, 29, said she found it quite “weird” filming two different outcomes.

She laughed as she told us: “I guess it was a bit weird, but to even be in the final I was happy. So whatever way it was going to go, I was.
