A 12-year-old boy who admitted getting involved in two separate bouts of violent disorder in Manchester is amongst the latest to be hauled before our regions courts.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attended outside a hotel believed to be housing asylum seekers, and was seen to stand in front of a bus, before kicking at it as it drove past him.
Days later, he went into the city centre and was seen to attack the front of a vape shop before going into a Sainsburys store with others who were looting.
Remanding him into local authority accommodation, District Judge Joanne Hirst asking the boy: "If you don’t listen to your mum or to me, where are you going to end up?” The boy replied quietly: "Prison."
