‘That Girl Lay Lay’ To End With Season 2 At Nickelodeon
deadline.comThe end is in sight for That Girl Lay Lay. The Nickelodeon buddy comedy starring teen hip-hop artist Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High and Gabrielle Nevaeh Green will end with the current second season, we’ve learned.
The Season 2 finale, which will now serve as the series finale, airs tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20. “After 46 episodes across two seasons of That Girl Lay Lay, we are ending production on the show, and we are incredibly grateful to the cast and crew for their immeasurable contributions on the production,” a Nickelodeon spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Deadline.
That Girl Lay Lay hailed from creator David A. Arnold, who passed away in September 2022 at the age of 54. The series follows the titular actress as an avatar from a personal affirmation app that magically comes to life, and her best friend Sadie (Green) as they navigate life as teenagers and discover who they truly are.
In Season 2, the two best friends embark on more exciting adventures, working to fulfill Lay Lay’s desire to experience everything that comes with being a real teenager.
