BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans were left "gutted" as presenter Tess Daly made a series announcement when she opened the show on Saturday, November 4.
The presenter told the studio audience and viewers at home that the 2023 competition had reached the halfway point, meaning the remaining contestants would have to pull out all the stops in order to get closer to the Glitterball Trophy.
Those still in the competition include Layton Williams, Angela Rippon, Nigel Harman, Angela Scanlon, Annabel Croft, Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
Opening the show during week seven, Tess said: "Welcome to Strictly Come Dancing, it's week seven and we are officially at the half way point." Her co-host Claudia Winkleman then shared: "So far this series, a Strictly record has been broken every single week." And in reference to Ellie and Vito Coppola, Tess added: "That's right, and with a new couple topping last week's leaderboard, there really is everything to dance for." Introducing judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, Claudia said: "And nothing gets past these four, please welcome the judges.
