Tesco has announced it is making a change in all of its stores to avoid shortages of certain foods. Shoppers may soon find that some vegetable products such as cauliflowers and cabbages are smaller than the ones they are used to purchasing.

That's because the retailer has decided to accept smaller-than-usual vegetables from its suppliers, whose businesses have been impacted by flooding in recent weeks.

One grower reported that sprouts were growing underwater due to the flooding, and that it was a race against the clock to pull vegetables from the ground before they started to rot.

It is hoped that Tesco's relaxation of size requirements will help to reduce the risk of shortages. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...
