A panicked youngster who was stuck 50ft in the air on a fairground slide was rescued by a local superhero who raised the spirits of kids during the first coronavirus lockdown.
Jason Baird, dubbed the Stockport Spider-Man, was enjoying day out with his partner and two children when he spotted a four-year-old boy struggling at the top of a 'helter skelter' slide.
The 36-year-old martial arts expert sprung to action at at the Geronimo family festival at Arley Hall in Cheshire on Sunday and rescued the crying child.Jason, from Reddish, ran up the slide, scooped the boy into his arms and slid back down to safety.
The youngster was left teetering on the edge of the slide when he slid down half way and tried to climb back up as other children began to follow him down, the Manchester Evening News reports.
