After beating the dire predictions of doctors – surviving almost two years longer than the 12 months they gave her at the age of 18 – the University of Manchester student has plenty of plans for her future. “I’m a person who likes to plan and when I got the diagnosis I felt a bit unmoored for a while,” Laura says. “Then I thought: ‘Let’s just forget about the cancer.’ We’ll do what we need to do but carry on living your life like you would.
