Ten Lanarkshire schools celebrate as they are given eco flag accreditation

Ten Lanarkshire schools have earned eco-schools green flag status in recognition of their environmental work.Rochsolloch Primary in Airdrie, Cabbage Patch Nursery in Wishaw, and neighbouring North Lanarkshire establishments Holytown Primary and Woodlands Primary in Cumbernauld all received the honour from environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.In South Lanarkshire, the award was earned by pupils at Calderside Academy in Blantyre, St Vincent’s Primary in East Kilbride, Bothwell Primary, Rutherglen High and Biggar and nearby Carmichael primaries.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The international award of a green eco flag recognises schools and nurseries which have “engaged their whole school community in local climate action” over a two-year period.
