A teenager who died after his electric bike crashed into a parked ambulance as he was followed by police has been named locally as Saul Cookson.The 15-year-old died following the incident on Langworthy Road in Salford on Thursday June 8, after he had been followed by traffic cops.
Greater Manchester Police has referred the incident to watchdogs the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which has launched an investigation.
Saul has not been formally identified as the victim of the crash. However, the Mirror reports that his sister Taylor-Jade has paid tribute to him on social network Instagram, calling him "my best friend and brother in one".
She wrote: "Seriously can't believe I'm typing this right now. I'm lost for words and don't know what to say. Just so crazy how it happened.
