A teenager who spat at police while shouting about coronavirus before racially abusing an officer has been jailed. Samir Fouad, 18, lashed out at police when officers were trying to help him after he appeared to have been attacked outside a takeaway, a court was told.

Police were called to a fast food restaurant in High Street, Harlesden, north west London, to claims criminal damage was being carried out.

But when police arrived at the scene last July 3, the restaurant was closed and there was no sign of any damage having taken place.

The door to an upstairs flat was open and a man told officers there had been a fight and led them to a room where 18-year-old Fouad was on a bed screaming in pain.
