A teenage girl was allegedly 'raped' in Greenock on Friday.Police were alerted to the alleged serious sexual assault of the 17-year-old in the Inverclyde town on Saturday.A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released from police custody pending further inquiries.
The police investigation remains ongoing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Saturday, 13 May, police received a report of an alleged serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl in Greenock that took place on Friday, May 12, 2023.
