A teenager was killed by a speeding danger driver who had the victim's cousin and a toddler in the car while he was riding his bike. When Ryan Elsender saw a group of youths riding bikes ahead of him, he sped up to 71mph on a 30mph road to accelerate past them, reports Chronicle Live.

But he slammed into 16-year-old Jayden McGuinness, leaving the "happy loving boy with a heart of gold" fatally injured. The crash happened weeks after the boy's father had died and the court heard he also lost his mother when he was just 12.

In a further tragic turn for the family, Elsender's passenger was Jayden's cousin who was faced with the heartbreaking discovery that he was the victim of the fatal collision when he got out of the car.Elsender's passenger, Ethan Tait, had asked Elsender to slow down but he said he didn't hear him.

When he got out, Mr Tait was shocked to find the victim was his cousin. As Elsender was jailed for causing death by dangerous driving, Newcastle Crown Court heard how Jayden's family had already been struck by tragedy after both his parents died.It was on Friday September 27 last year shortly before 9pm that Elsender was in a VW Golf travelling west on Walker Road, in Newcastle.
