A teacher has reportedly been stabbed to death by a student during class at a school in the French town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
According to the BBC, a 16-year-old student was arrested following the attack at Saint-Thomas d'Aquin school on Wednesday. The teacher was said to be teaching a Spanish class.
Local media reports stated that the teacher was in their fifties and died of cardiac arrest after emergency services arrived at the school, the BBC said. He added: "My thoughts are with their family, colleagues and students." Government spokesman Olivier Véran said politicians are supporting the "educational community".
