Bramhall, Stockport, discovered his garden submerged in water. Having shared pictures of his garden on social media, Richard’s friends and colleagues encouraged him to put on his wetsuit and dive in. “I posted it on social media because it’s the first time in ten years it’s flooded and I thought it looked a bit like a pool,” Richard, a teacher at Hursthead Junior School in Cheadle Hulme told the Manchester Evening News . “A friend of mine said he’d give me a tenner if I did a belly flop into it.

I told him to come back to me when he had £50 and it just spiraled from there.”Richard’s other friends soon started offering money for him to do the ‘courageous’ dive, and it was eventually decided that he would do it in the name of charity.
