To celebrate the opening night of her long-awaited “Eras” tour, Taylor Swift has shared a brand new song and three re-recordings (“Taylor’s Versions”) of previously released cuts. “All Of The Girls You Loved Before” arrives alongside new takes on “If This Was a Movie” (from her 2010 album Speak Now), “Eyes Open,” and “Safe and Sound,” the latter two tracks both initially released on the soundtrack to the original Hunger Games movie.

The start of Taylor Swift’s 2023 has included a Best Original Song Oscar nomination for “Carolina” (from the film adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing), the announcement of her own screenwriting and directorial debut (details TBA), and the revelation that one in 25 vinyl albums sold last year had her name on them.

These accolades have been somewhat overshadowed, however, by a situation largely out of her control: The controversy surrounding the “Eras” tour’s ticketing fiasco has led to lawsuits, a senate hearing, and public discussion of an ongoing Department of Justice antitrust investigation into Ticketmaster’s merger with Live Nation (the investigation predates the debacle, according to the DOJ).
